We launched Adira in 2019 knowing that it is terrifying being sick with something really complicated. More people are struggling with complex situations and feeling isolated than ever. The pandemic has only magnified our fears and our urgency.

We have an ambitious agenda—to make being sick a simpler experience. If we can assemble populations together, we might build common cause around common problems like caregiving, navigation, or other broad issues too big, too expensive or too heavy for anyone to own.

We spent 2020 building and testing our approach. We have made significant strides already … and we’re just getting started.

We spent 2020 building and testing our approach. We have made significant strides already, investing $390,000 toward grants, demonstration projects and research that reached about 500,000 people impacted by the “big five”—the five diseases we are taking on first: Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), Huntington’s disease, multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease.
